As a queer transwoman, Gabbie hopes to use her lived experiences to support individuals in similar situations.  Dedicating herself to education and advocacy is important in her work though peer support, allowing for a safe space for individuals to express themselves freely on their path to self-discovery.

Growing up in the suburb of Forest Lake, Minnesota where resources for queer and trans people were absent, Gabbie understands the difficulties people face when coming out.  Gabbie believes wholeheartedly that every individual within ‘her family’ (the LGBTQIA+ community) is valid and filled with strength and beauty.

While a student at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Gabbie worked at the campus’s LGBTQIA+ resource center where she spearheaded educational events surrounding trans identities. Gabbie sees the importance of sharing stories to help one another live, learn, and love.  Joining the Milkweed team with great enthusiasm,  Gabbie is here to support you by taking the right steps for your life’s journey all while having a hand to hold and a friend to talk to.
