Nycki offers a wide variety of support and services for struggling families. She is a single parent raising 3 children, 2 of her own and her nephew. She strongly believes and encourages community-based services specific to each individual's needs. She volunteers and advocates with a variety of organizations, ranging from EXPO (Ex-Incarcerated People Organizing), FREE (reclaiming women's freedom), and HEAT, a sub committee of CHIP (Chippewa Health Improvement Partnership). This gives her a great understanding of the hardships individuals encounter when dealing with alcohol abuse/addiction, re-entry into the community, and dealing with trauma using a trauma-informed approach.
As a person with lived experience in many forms including mental health issues, alcohol and substance abuse, Child Protective Services, and surviving abuse, Nycki can offer services, support, and advocacy to many people. She is a graduate of Chippewa County Treatment Court and was successfully reunited with her children. Nycki believes life is an adventure and loves to enjoy it. Although life has not always given her the road she has wanted, she has tried to make the best of it. She believes that everything in life has helped mold her into the person she is today. Nycki loves spending her time with her kids, doing anything outdoors and being in nature.
