Mental Health and Substance Use Challenges
Sandy joins Milkweed Connections to provide peer support, mentoring and promote a sense of happiness in others. After years of struggling with Depression, Mania and Anxiety, she discovered the value of peer support in her own journey of healing and recovery. “Peer support gave me confidence, self-esteem and the ability to advocate for myself in my personal and professional life”. She believes that recovery encompasses self-care on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. “I would like to assist others to identify health and wellness goals”.
Sandy works as a Mobile Crisis worker and has experience facilitating support groups. She enjoys helping others seek natural connections in their community and has knowledge of local resources and informal supports. Sandy encourages others to explore their strengths and creative endeavors to promote a sense of meaning and purpose in their life. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in nature, gardening, music and practicing yoga.
