Milkweed is committed to providing peer support to LGBTQIA+ youth and adults. Our LGBTQIA+ support providers share the experience of growing up and coming out as queer and/or transgender in Wisconsin. They use their lived experience -- the challenges and the triumphs -- to share knowledge, compassion, and support for those people with similar circumstances.

As LGBTQIA+ specialists, their role is to support people who:

​

• Have challenges and goals specifically related to gender and sexual identity

• Identify as LGBTQIA+ and need support working on goals related to their mental health or substance use, or

• Identify as LGBTQIA+ and need support developing  independent living skills

​

Our LGBTQIA+ Peer Mentors are Hayden, Jason, Rachel.
