Hope has lived experience with being a participant of the CCS program herself in 2017. During that time, she heard about certified peer support and was trained and certified as a peer specialist in 2019. Having the support of her CCS team during her darkest time was life changing and Hope feels so blessed to be a provider today. Hope’s additional lived experiences include, but are not limited to: childhood trauma, abuse, eating disorders, substance use disorder, mental health challenges, reentry from incarceration, and co – parenting.
Hope believes in encouraging self-advocacy and honesty by sharing her story, putting in hard work, and opening up and asking for help. By doing so herself, so many doors were opened for her. Hope continues to maintain a drug and alcohol-free life today by working a 12-step program, practicing yoga, having a connection to God, maintaining harmony between work and home life, and doing this work is so fulfilling and brings her so much contentment in life and gratitude for the gift of a new life!
Hope and her husband enjoy cooking together, especially Mexican food! They love traveling and going to concerts, as long as she can sit down because she’s too old to stand in the pit! They have 2 teenage boys who keep them on their toes and busy.
